Bas-Tyra has been standing tall for ages. It is the home of the mystical race of Elves. Bas-Tyra has held out against many undead assaults, but in one blitzkrieg assault, the undead took half of the city and destroyed it, but only hours later Elven soldiers cut down most of the undead, and are working on destroyed the last few minions. The city of Bas-Tyra was founded by Kelewan Bas-Tyra a great magician of all magical arts, but was deemed dead after his disappearance just a few years after his city came to be. His son, Milamber Bas-Tyra, took the crown and had a great ruling, until he was killed in battle when undead ambushed him when he was rescuing a besieged town. The current Lord of Bas-Tyra is, Zihais Bas-Tyra, married to Queen Katala Bas-Tyra and has a son, Arutha Bas-Tyra, Champion of Bas-Tyra. Zihais rules with an open hand and treats all his citizens with respect and kindness, his prisoners are recruited to war to redeem themselves, and he opposes execution. Zihais plans to earn alligence with all factions, and is trying to push the undead back to whence they came and crush them.

Twenty years before the formation of the Republic of Lordaeron, a great storm arose from the West and swept the coast of Lordaeron, bringing about the arrival of a small lone vessel of odd craftsmanship. From this vessel, a lone man came forth onto the shore, carrying a young baby in his arms, who then set the ship aflame with seemingly just a wave of his hand. From there, he wandered inland, remaining largely undetected aside from the little remaining natural wild life. Upon his arrival to what is now Southern Lordaeron, the lone man entered the ancient long abandon and decrepit city of what is now New Ertar. Within days, the once ancient city, long believed to be cursed, had water running from the fountains, life in the vegetation and the long aura of gloom and evil dispelled, bringing the sun and the stars once more to shine upon the city. It was after this event, that Arsael Elhim Vanyasaila the Númenel made himself known to the local populace. Using his outlandish arts of what the locals deem "magic," Arsael vanquished the Undead in the outlaying region and gathered and harbored all people who sought life free of Undead rule, allowing them to populate and settle into what he called New Ertar. Shortly after founding the academies, Arsael vanished, leaving in his place a High Council to govern his realm. After standing as a pinnacle of a beacon of hope for Humanity for ten years before the Republic of Lordaeron was finally formed, the regions around New Ertar now being called "Southern Lordaeron" was designated as the capital of the Republic.

The kingdom of South Lordearon was founded by Arsael Elhim Vanyasaila the Númenel, who brought about the creation of the Free City of New Ertar from the ruins of an untouched ancient city which sat in what is now South Lordearon. The region around New Ertar was mainly a few scattered mining camps set up by the Undead, which were quickly destroyed by the hand of Arsael. For four years New Ertar grew quickly and remained the sole human city. During the Unifying War, New Ertar was the main base of operations as well as training grounds for Republic forces. It was because of this that New Ertar was made the capital of the Republic of Lordearon that was founded after the war.

South Lordearon is considered the "Center of Culture and Technology" of Humanity. It harbors many philosophers, rich merchants, brilliant minds and high-class citizenry, as well as many middle-class citizenry. The lower-class tend to live outside the city's walls tending to the surrounding farmlands. Though many outside of South Lordearon disregard it as nonsense due to it being passed down from Asrael himself, history is a widely studied field in South Lordearon. New Ertar also houses the most Republic Academies (Military Academy, Arcane Academy, Academy of Literature, Academy of History), as well as has the only standard primary schools for ages five to twelve.

((The people of South Lordearon are usually welcoming, however, that does not stop from a lot of those considered "upper-class" from being arrogant and haughty. Merchants will also try to rip off any visitors to the capital to make an extra coin, but most passer-byers will thwart merchants' attempts. Most of the citizens find themselves in the field of education, trading, politics or the military, very few go on to become blacksmiths, farmers, craftsmen or masons.))

The kingdom of Strom was founded by William Tyron Pourter, who governs over it from the city of Stromgarde. This region was under the ruthless rule of the Lich Wertyn Hellfang during the period of Human history known as the Age of Darkness, it was only after William lead a rag-tag army of slaves from the farms scattered across the land that this region was officially a Human kingdom and it was only after William helped in the Unifying War that it became a state of the Republic, which was formed at that time. The kingdom of Strom now produces the Republic's finest warriors and blacksmiths and is known for it's absolute order and low crime rate.(( That said, citizens of this state tend to be blacksmiths or soldiers and sometimes farmers. These people are generally law-abiding citizen due to the consequences for not being so, such as public execution. ))
