Sins of the Forgotten Empty

The First

At first, there was a planet. It existed within nothing, simply a void. That is where The First found themselves. The First were Angels of sorts, though it matters not what they are called. They could do anything, their powers were limitless. After a time of existence on the planet, The First stopped being content with their small world. They gathered together and painted the place outside the planet and gave birth to the entire universe. They spent uncountable time frolicking about their creation. But over time they faded, one by one they went back to the first world and their power was locked by some unseen force even greater than they. Perhaps it was the combined power of The First that had gained sentience, but such ponderous thoughts are best left to the philosophers; we have more important things. The First were locked, and the forms they had created for themselves dissipated, until their core, their essence, was all that was left. One by one, their essences fell from the place they stood, down into a small bay. The waters spread their essences, separating them from each other. The final essence to fall was that of Randaros. Fearing that this would be the end of the existence he had come to love and cherish, he let out a terrible roar right before his power was locked and created Humans. Unlike the other animals The First had created, Humans were vastly more intelligent. Randaros's last effort was that these creatures, superior to all others, would grow strong, and eventually discover the essences and free them. Humans were made closely to The First themselves, so that they could bond easily. As the planet shifted and changed, the essences moved quite a bit, but the unity they had in life, somehow kept them together in this new state. They traveled much, but eventually ended up in the Avandarian Mountain. So they wait, waiting for the humans to discover them.

The Age of Discovery.

Just as Randaros has hoped, the humans grew. They grew more advanced and their influence became great. In the present an age of massive discovery and colonization has taken hold with the invention of many navigation devices and new ship technologies. An age of trade, exploration, and piracy it is. I suppose it was simply fated, that the largest and most fruitful colony is the exotic Fathrenland (Under the supervision of Viceroy Peter Provitak which is based in between the sea, a massive and dense forest, and the Avandarian Mountain. Even more intriguing is that the Avandarian Mountain is being dug in extensively, because of the discovery of many rare minerals and gems having accumulated there. It is also most interesting that during some excavations strange items are being found. It must startle a miner that in this newly discovered land there would be an exquisitely made helm or extravagantly gilded mirror within a pile of dirt. These in fact contain the essences of The First.

The Falling

However, the First had become quite noticeably more evil within the moments of their binding. They had far too much joy in their existence, they became bitter and hateful because they felt robbed of their very existence. They felt they deserved to live, and that was their downfall. They were entirely corrupted by their bitter thoughts and became "Fallen". The Fallen are quite dark and getting on the bad side of one would be a particularly bad idea which could result in anything from eighteenth degree burns to living out the rest of your life as a toad . . . made of wood. (Or if you're very unfortunate you could be turned into an old person's penis.)

MAGIC

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmkay

As The First began to stir their godly energies began to leak and filled the world. These energies are quite different from the common. These can only be utilized by the gods. However, because Randaros willed that the humans be similar to the gods and thus connected, they can summon and use this magical energy. Not to the extent of the gods of course. However, The First have only been stirring for a short time, so magic has only existed for four generations and is thus an infant art.

Mmmkay and that sort of sets the stage for this . . . thing.
By the way, incase you're dumb leik Wiz you may not have noticed the similarities between the technology of this world's present time and the late 1600s of our's. So yeah, the tech level is around there.
I need a title, and feel free to submit descriptions of foreign cultures because we of course need those and I think it would be better if multiple minds create these to add a bit of variation.

Alsoooooooooo... there be 9 continents on the planet.

Right, because classes are cliche and stupid in anything in which you don't beat the shit out of things and go on quests to collect gold to beat the shit out of bigger things and NOTHING ELSE; we will be using Professions.

Professions, simple...what you do, your job, your role, ET CETERA.

You could be anything realistic for the time, inventor, nobleman, mariner, pirate, soldier, military or naval officer, miner, blacksmith, crazed gold digger who urinates on places he has already checked, etc.

Be creative domnit.
